BIGbin supports Waterford gives a shirt

BIGbin supports Waterford gives a shirt

We’re Blaa and proud.

BIGbin is proud to be able to offer its support to the Waterford gives a shirt campaign. The campaign was launched by our friend and neighbor Liz Murphy and Cian Foley. The idea started off as a casual conversation on facebook and soon grew into a monumental campaign Waterford gives a shirt is opposed to the governments plan to remove Waterford’s city status. Liz has said “The Government has taken our jobs and given our money to the bankers. Now they want to rewrite 1,100 years of history and take Waterford’s city status.  “Seeing as there’s nothing left to give, they may as well strip the shirts off our backs too.” The campaign has received thousands and thousands of shirts.Bigbin Supports Waterford

Each shirt represents a citizen of the oldest city in Ireland. On the 21st of November these shirts will be left outside the Dail in Dublin to show the government we are not happy with this decision. After the protest the shirts will be sold and the money will be donated to local charity. Good Luck Liz and Cian up the Blaa.

BIN COLLECTION HASSLES DURING CHRISTMAS

BIN COLLECTION HASSLES DURING CHRISTMAS

Christmas is coming and the goose is getting fat please put a penny in the old mans hat…………. Yep Christmas is coming. We have to face the fact that as soon as Halloween ends the Yuletide fever begins. To some Xmas is a thing to be dreaded to others it’s a time of family, frolics and fun. We produce more rubbish during the festive season then at any other time of year. This can be a major headache for the average householder. Our over taxed bank accounts need to be stretched just a little further to pay for the disposal of the extra waste generated. We either have to have a few extra bin collections or work out some other way of disposing of our extra Xmas waste. It’s a pity we can’t ask Santa to fill his empty sack on his way back up the chimney. BIGbin is here to help. We are open 247/365 and that includes the holidays. So don’t dread the high tide of Yule rubbish. Just find your nearest BIGbin and let us relieve you of the headache.

BIGbin HALLOWEEN DEAD GOOD FUN

BIGbin HALLOWEEN DEAD GOOD FUN

Halloween is always a blast but this year it was dead brilliant so it was. We had our own BIGbin sponsored Zombie walk. What a great turn out. There was six of us.  Not many zombies I know but its a start. With just a few dabs of face paint and some inventive use of old clothes we were ready to scare Waterford stiff. We started off practicing our moves on the BIGbin van and then headed off up the Quays and into the heart of the City. The reactions were mixed but in general people thought the zombie makeup was Dead Good. LOL.

A YEAR OF GROWTH AND CHANGE

A Viable alternative to your old fashioned bin collection service.

2012 was a year of growth and change for the BIGbin. Not only did we expand into new territories but our DWDU had a makeover. What fun! We grew up. We found our look and we are delighted with it.

We have had great feedback from our customers and forecourt partners. Since we provide an alternative to bin collection services we wanted our look to be trustworthy, clean and strong.

We stuck with strong colors and a paint that would clean well and weather well. The waste collection industry is awash with brands and we wanted ours to stand out. BIGbin is a viable alternative to your standard bin collection service and we wanted our units to shout that.

We thought it might be fun to actually show you the process (in a condensed form). Our designer had many small nervous breakdowns to get to the finished look. We tried out many looks ranging from the wild and whacky to the staid and well erm boring.

Enjoy
