There are BIGbins landing all over Ireland and we were delighted to launch the latest one in Portlaoise at Texaco/Centra/Downey’s on Dublin Rd, Kilminchy.
BIGbin is the waste disposal service that gives the power to the people! Members of the public can come along to the new location by Centra/Texaco and dispose of two standard black bags of rubbish for €8 and two bags of recycling for €5. If you need to get rid of more bags, all you have to do is buy more tickets, which are available in the Circle K shop or via an online account which can be created at www.bigbin.ie.
What people are finding most useful about BIGbin is its convenience – it’s open 7 days a week from 6:30a.m.–10:30p.m Monday- Friday and from 8a.m.–10p.m at the weekend.
Ciaran Cotter from BIGbin said that he was confident that the new service would be a waste-game changer for the people of Portlaoise.
“BIGbin is great for those occasions when you have more rubbish than usual, either because of a special event or maybe you missed a bin collection, Ciaran said. “You have the power to dispose of the rubbish when it suits you – there’s no contract and no obligation. It’s also proving to be a great tool in the ongoing fight against illegal dumping which was highlighted again recently by local councillor John King and Portlaoise Tidy Towns who have said that the problem is ‘worse than ever’.
